UNS S31254 Vlekvrye Staalbuise. UNS S31254 is 'n super-austenitiese vlekvrye staal met 'n hoë vlak van molibdeen en stikstof, wat hoë weerstand teen put- en spleetkorrosie bied, sowel as hoë sterkte in vergelyking met konvensionele austenitiese vlekvrye staal soos 316L. UNS S31254 is 'n austenitiese graad waarin die byvoegings van chroom, molibdeen en stikstof hoë weerstand teen putkorrosie in seewater gee. Hierdie legering het 'n gemiddelde Putweerstand-ekwivalente getal ('PREN' = Cr+3.3Mo+16N) van 43.8. Toetse dui op hoë weerstand teen spleetkorrosie-aanval in seewater en teen spanningskorrosie-krake in warm gekonsentreerde natriumchloried. In vergelyking met CrNiMo 17 12 2.5-staal, toon dit beter korrosieweerstand in baie sure teen soortgelyke konsentrasies en die vloeigrens is ongeveer 50% hoër. Goeie sweisbaarheid met behulp van Ni-Cr-Mo-verbruiksgoedere. Blusgloeiing en kort periodes binne die 600-1000°C-reeks vermy die moontlike ontwikkeling van 'n skadelike sigma-fase, wat bros kan word en korrosieweerstand kan benadeel.
